This guide includes links to resources that can be accessed from anywhere with an Internet connection. It includes sources that provide:

  • background information, such as country profiles
  • data and statistics
  • tips on cross-cultural communication and collaboration

However, it is likely that you have will need to access to a lot more information through your college or university’s library.

We encourage you to contact a librarian at your college or university for help with your research. An academic librarian can help with tasks like:

  • finding sources for background information on your topic
  • locating information from reliable sources
  • figuring out which search terms to use
  • finding free copies of sources that would otherwise cost money to access
  • acquiring articles or other material that must be borrowed from another library
  • citing your sources

Also, sometimes it’s nice to be able to ask questions and discuss your topic with someone besides your professor or classmates. A librarian is a nonjudgmental ally in your research process.
