
Taine Duncan

Taine Duncan is the Chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies and Director of Gender Studies at the University of Central Arkansas. She is president of the EWCA Executive Board for the East-West Center, serves as co-director of the Women’s Leadership Academy for the Women’s Leadership Network, and is co-Executive Editor of the professional academic journal Philosophy in the Contemporary World. She was recently awarded an American Philosophical Association Diversity and Inclusiveness grant for The Lavender Library: Institutionalizing Access to Queer Theory, Courses and Speakers at a Regional Comprehensive University in the South. She loves roller-coasters, cats, and cooking when she is not collaborating on presentations about philosophy, leadership, and teaching.

In order to build solidarity across borders, understanding the needs of the particular is central, as is understanding that issues or problems may be shared but not identical.
