“For me, Coil is the most important thing as a teacher: 1) My students grow as people. 2) When I read their reflections on what they learned in each COIL, it fills my heart with joy, often to the point of tears. 3) My students’ self-esteem increases because they compare themselves and see that they can do it, that they are at the same level as other countries. 4) They develop their ability to work in international teams. 5) They practice their English. 6) They learn empathy, communication, and respect among their peers. 7) I am filled with satisfaction when I see their final projects. Although it is difficult to communicate in another language… BUT THEY TRY. 8) It is a lot of work for me… but the reward of seeing my students grow, more mature, more empowered, is priceless. 9) My peers from other countries award my students diplomas from their universities, thus enhancing their professional resumes. 10) My students’ professional growth increases with Coil projects.”
