Since 2009, the SUNY COIL Center has partnered with a subset of SUNY campuses to assist them in embedding globally networked learning into courses and their broader internationalization plans. These campuses are known as the SUNY Nodal Network (NN). The COIL Center envisions these campuses developing into nodes which support and communicate with each other, rather than simply a hub and spokes system with the COIL Center at the center. A list of current Nodal Network Campuses and Coordinators can be found here.
In 2014 the COIL Center unveiled a new Global Partner Network (GPN) to facilitate the creation of more robust partnerships between SUNY campuses and select higher education institutions around the world. A list of current GPN Institutions can be found here.
Each campus has made a commitment at the Dean, Provostial or Presidential level to the COIL model and has designated a Campus Coordinator. These coordinators call regular meetings for interested faculty and staff, and help coordinate support with the campus’ international programs and/or instructional technology offices. Increasingly, the COIL Center is working with the coordinators to provide support to the campuses through its web site and other online tools.
