Julie Ficarra joins us COIL's new Program Coordinator for International Collaborations!
Julie’s position is underwritten by the recent renewal of SUNY’s grant from Santander Universities (more details to be announced this summer). She will be actively involved in supporting and developing that project. She will also be taking a lead role in our communications strategies both at SUNY for our growing Nodal Network, as well as with our constituencies around the world. Her role will also include significant involvement with COIL’s ever evolving annual conference.

Julie Ficarra joins COIL from the University of South Florida where she has been responsible for African, Middle Eastern and French education abroad programs. Previously, she worked in International Programs at the University at Buffalo and Harvard College, as well in International Student Advising at the University of Northern Virginia’s Prague Campus. Julie was an Una Chapman Cox Fellow at the Department of State and held assignments in the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs in Washington, D.C and in Public Diplomacy at the American Embassy in Mbabane, Swaziland. She received her B.A. in Cultural Anthropology and International Studies from the University at Buffalo, and was a participant on SUNY study abroad programs in Tanzania, England and Czech Republic. Julie holds an Ed.M in International Education Policy from Harvard University.
