The SUNY COIL Center is pleased to announce its slate of spring 2017 presentations at upcoming public fora and conferences. These events will allow the public to learn more about the COIL Center's intercultural and international professional development programs, activities and results from the J. Christopher Stevens Virtual Exchange Initiative and the US-Mexico Multistate COIL Program, how the COIL Center's SUNY Nodal Network and Global Partner Network facilitate partnership matching and course development for professors who want to embed global learning into their teaching.
The SUNY COIL Center is dedicated to developing and spreading the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) model for cost-effective, co-equal, intercultural and international learning for colleges and universities throughout the State University of New York, around the US, and the world. These events will be opportunities to meet experienced professors and administrators that have implemented this model, and make new connections with COIL Center staff members. - Stevens Initiative Virtual Exchange Forum on April 25th, 2017 in Washington, DC. Allison Church, the COIL Center Project Manager for the Steven's Initiative, will participate in a panel discussion on virtual exchange and as one of the main discussants on the topic of language learning as it relates to the COIL Center's work in connecting university classes between institutions in Middle East and North Africa, and New York State.
- ACE COIL Leadership Academy on April 27th, in Washington D.C is a 2-day professional development seminar for leadership teams interested in establishing collaborative online international learning on their campuses.
- SUNY Conference on Instruction and Technology (CIT) between May 30 - June 2, 2017 at SUNY Oneonta will feature a panel of professors from SUNY Nodal Network and overseas Global Partner Network institutions to discuss the professional development program that the COIL Center designs and delivers to facilitate the construction of COIL-enhanced courses.
- NAFSA 2017 Annual Conference between May 28 - June 2, 2017 in Los Angeles, CA will feature COIL Center staff and campus leaders from University of Buffalo and Universidad de Tijuana to discuss comprehensive internationalization and the COIL model as it relates to their experience in the US-Mexico Multistate COIL Program in 2016.
